The Czech pour isn’t just a way to serve beer; it’s a performance that heightens flavour, preserves freshness, and keeps customers coming back for more. Each foam-capped pour brings out a depth of flavour and smooth drinkability that’s hard to resist.

The Art of the Pour

Czech pours are an art form, each style enhancing the beer’s flavour and presentation. Hladinka is a classic pour with a balanced creamy foam cap, offering a smooth, full taste. Mliko is a foam-rich pour, almost entirely head, delivering a sweet, velvety mouthfeel perfect for a quick refreshing sip. Šnyt is a lighter pour, served with a thicker foam and less beer, designed for a refreshing, low commitment that’s ideal for sampling. Each pour style is crafted to showcase Czech beer’s unique character and elevate the drinking experience.

How to pour

The Czech pour ritual is a precise and skilful process that transforms the experience of drinking a pint. Unlike the standard lever-tap seen in most countries, the Czech side-pull tap operates more like a dimmer switch than an on-off button, allowing the beertender to control the flow and texture of the beer in delicate stages.

Quality Assurance

To uphold this, we conduct regular audits across multiple quality categories, awarding points for performance. Operators are expected to achieve a minimum score of 80% in all four audits to maintain these high standards and ensure a consistently excellent experience for patrons.

We highly recommend featuring five draught beer taps at every Knajpa. This curated selection ensures a high beer turnover, which is essential for maintaining the highest quality. Offering five taps provides variety while allowing for quick rotation, ensuring freshness and a consistent experience for guests.

Czech Side Pull Tap

The Czech Side Pull Tap is a traditional Czech tap that is designed to pour in a way that preserves the balanced taste and aroma of the Czech lager, it enhances the beer’s smooth mouthfeel and increases drinkability. This unique tap method ensures the beer is served at its freshest every time, delivering an authentic and high-quality drinking experience that showcases the true craftsmanship.

Beer Dispensing Perfection

The cornerstone of Knajpa is the perfect dispense of beer. This involves not just the right equipment but also the knowledge and skill to use it effectively. Each Knajpa bar is equipped with side pull taps, cooling baths for iconic glasses, sprinklers, and sinks for handwashing, ensuring every beer is served in perfect condition.

The Altar

In a true beer-centric venue, the dispensing font should be the focal point, the “altar” that welcomes every guest. Positioned prominently, visible from all corners of the venue, it invites guests to experience the artistry of the Czech pour. Unlike traditional setups, where the bartender faces away, here the beer is poured with pride and connection, allowing guests to fully appreciate the craftsmanship behind every pour.

All that is included in the deal: The dispensing technology including stainless steel surface bar with a 5-taps font, water cooling basin, the beer cooler, hand-glass washing station, glassware, POS, 2 trainings per year, optional – cool beer storage.

Staff Training

Our comprehensive training programs ensure that every staff member is well-versed in the art of beer pouring and knowledgeable about Budvar’s products. Training covers everything from the czech pour to customer service, ensuring a consistently excellent experience for every guest.

Quality Assurance

We provide all the essential hardware, systems and training to maintain the highest standards of beer quality from keg to glass. Our advanced dispensing systems, beer storage solutions, and cooling equipment are designed to preserve the beer’s freshness and flavour. Every aspect of the beer-serving process, from clean handwashing stations to the use of proper glassware, ensures each pour meets Budvar’s standards. Our beertenders are trained to deliver the perfect pour, and our sanitation book tracks rigorous cleaning protocols for consistent quality. To ensure ongoing excellence, quality is tested quarterly, with each venue receiving a score. Based on their performance, venues are eligible for a performance-based bonus, rewarding their commitment to maintaining top-quality service.

In the Knajpa project, Budvar empowers operators to shape the unique look and feel of their venue, allowing for personal expression and individuality while staying true to the core concept of exceptional beer delivery. SITE SELECTION AND EVALUATION

03  LOCATION ASSESSMENT

Identify potential locations for the Knajpa bar. Our team will provide guidelines on ideal site characteristics, including size, foot traffic, and demographic considerations.

04  SITE VISIT AND FEASIBILITY STUDY

Conduct a site visit with Budvar representatives to evaluate the suitability of the proposed location. This includes assessing space requirements, infrastructure, and any necessary renovations.

DESIGN AND LAYOUT APPROVAL

05  INTERIOR DESIGN CONSULTATION

Work with our design team to create a layout and design plan that reflects the Knajpa brand.This includes selecting materials, furniture, and fixtures that align with the concept’s aesthetic.

06  DESIGN APPROVAL

Our team will review and approve the final design to ensure it meets Knajpa’s standards, ensuring both aesthetic and functional alignment before moving forward.

FINANCIAL PLANNING AND BUDGETING

Place orders for all necessary equipment, including beer taps, cooling systems, and glassware. Budvar will assist insourcing high-quality equipment

Install the equipment under the supervision of Budvar’s technical team to ensure everything is set up correctly and meets our standards.

Staff recruitment and training

11  HIRING

Recruit staff who are passionate about beer and customer service. Budvar can provide guidelines on the ideal profile for bartenders and support staff.

12  COMPREHENSIVE TRAINING PROGRAM

Enroll your staff in our training programs, which cover beer pouring techniques, product knowledge, and customer service. Training sessions will be conducted by experienced trainers to ensure your team is well-prepared.

MARKETING AND LAUNCH PREPARATION
